Our mission is to focus on leadership development, building a solid team, creating positive mental attitudes and work habits to succeed.  To promote a sense of patriotism, provide informed and responsible citizens while building a strength of character, encouraging a high sense of honor, self-reliance, respect and individual self-discipline

The NJROTC accredited curriculum emphasizes citizenship and leadership development, as well as our maritime heritage, the significance of sea power, and naval topics such as the fundamentals of naval operations, seamanship, navigation and meteorology. Classroom instruction is augmented throughout the year by extra-curricular activities of community service, academic, athletics, drill and orienteering competitions, field meets, visits to naval or other activities, marksmanship sports training, and physical fitness training. Our focus of the Rockport – Fulton High school NJROTC program is as follows:

  • Promote Patriotism

  • Develop informed and responsible citizens

  • Develop respect for constructed authority

  • Develop leadership potential

  • Promote high school completion

  • Promote higher education

  • Promote community service

  • Develop a high degree of personal honor, self-reliance, individual discipline and leadership

  • Promote an understanding of the basic elements and need for national security

NJROTC is offered at RFHS as an alternative to P.E. We have a competitive Drill Team, Physical Fitness, and Academic team that has competed at the Area-10 State Championship in Texas A&M University, College Station since inception of the program in 2010 – 2011.

Benefits of completing four years of NJROTC at Rockport – Fulton High are as follows:

  • Two years completed receives a service enlistment as an E2 upon entry

  • Three years completed receives a service enlistment as an E3 upon entry

  • Members may apply for ROTC National scholarships, Minority Serving Institution Scholarship Reservation, and Alternative Scholarship Reservation.
